Cecchetti Graded Exams
Classical Ballet School students are encouraged to participate in Cecchetti Council of America graded ballet technique exams.
Ballet exam preparation provides dancers with a tangible goal to work towards and encourages the deliberate practice required for strong technique, artistry, and quality of movement.
The exam process provides feedback for dancers on their progress and encourages the disciplined study required to progress through the Cecchetti grade levels.
Regional Seminars & Scholarships
The Southwest Committee of the Cecchetti Council of America (SWCCA) is Classical Ballet School’s regional council. The SWCCA hosts weekend seminars twice a year to give students the opportunity to increase their technical skills and earn scholarships to future seminars. Regional seminars are held in Oklahoma or the neighboring states of Texas, Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri.
CCA International Summer School
According to the Cecchetti Council of America (CCA), “The Cecchetti Council of America’s International Summer School is designed to strengthen the technique, broaden the perspective, and develop the artistry of students ages 11 – 21. The program offers many different dance genres with exceptional guest artists and teachers. The schedule includes ballet technique, men’s class, variations, and jazz. The two-week intensive may include, depending upon the level, additional classes in pointe, pas de deux, character, modern, Flamenco, Pilates mat, yoga, and lecture topics including Dance History, Nutrition, and Injury Prevention and Care.”
CCA Classical Ballet Competition
According to the CCA, “The mission of the Cecchetti Council of America Classical Ballet Competition is to support and develop dancers of all economic, ethnic, and geographic backgrounds by providing education, performance, and scholarship opportunities. The CCA competition serves as part of the international network of dance through its affiliation with the Cecchetti International Classical Ballet organization.”
